Get to be an expatriate, get an achiever mindset
It's not what you know sometimes but, who you know. An opportunity that came across for my dearest and closest work buddy is now a reality.
Yes, he is leaving for Dubai on Sunday and we all terribly miss him in the team. He is a very fun-loving person, respectful but also feisty and takes charge when he knows there's room for improvement.
How he made the expatriate role come true is not by himself alone. All co-workers whether managers or specialists notice you at work and by notice they really give feedback on their perceptions to those who really matter in the job i.e. the immediate manager.
An important realization on the job is that hard work is important but results and feedback matter.
